What to expect
Wind Mitigation documents construction features that may help a home resist wind damage. We photograph accessible features and review relevant records when available. Your insurer uses the report to evaluate potential credits. The roof shape, its attachment and opening protection can all contribute to the documented findings.
Before your inspection
Keep the attic entrance accessible if it is safe to enter. Have roof permits, replacement records and shutter or impact-rated opening documentation available when possible. Discounts depend on the findings and insurer rules; savings are not guaranteed.
